Rubus comes from 30% Sangiovese – 70% Montepulciano grapes.
On the nose it appears intense, quite persistent and fine; pleasant hints of ripe red fruit and jam stand out. Sapid, dry, quite soft and rightly tannic flavour. From the initial sensations of red fruit, evolutions towards slightly spicy notes are appreciated.
Ideal with red and meat first courses, legume soups (especially if with the addition of spices or meat), raw, well-seasoned and lean cured meats. It also goes well with not excessively spicy medium-aged sheep's cheeses.
